INSTRUCTIONS
FOR LOGGING ON TO THE HUCM
MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2000/XP NETWORK Please
remember to log off
when you complete your computing session. If you do not, you run
the risk of another user accessing your resources and/or having
your account disabled. 1.
Generally, your user name is the first letter of your first name,
followed by your last name. For example, John Smith's user name
would be jsmith. John Smith Jr. would be jsmithjr. William Thompson
III would be wthompsomiii. 2.
Your temporary password is student ID number with the '@' symbol
or the first letter of your first name followed
by the first letter of your last name followed by your Howard University
student ID number. For example, if John Smith's student ID number
is 997451, then his password is js997451. This is a temporary password.
Please change it as soon as is convenient for security reasons. 3.
Special exceptions will occur if there are two or more students
whose user name would be the same because the first initial of the
first name and the last name are the same. In this case include the
middle initial in the user name. For example John E. Smith and JoAnn
K. Smith would use jesmith or jsmith1 and jksmith or jsmith2 as user
names respectively. 4.
