How to Access Lecture Notes

 

This document will explain the process of accessing Lecture Notes while on the Howard University campus using the ‘My Network Places’ feature in Windows© XP Professional. You MUST delete the previous network share and restart your computer for this to work.

 

Step 1)        Open ‘My Computer’ from the ‘Start Menu’

Step 2)        Once the ‘My Computer’ screen is open you may select the ‘My Network Places’ option on the left.

Step 3)        Once you have selected the ‘My Network Places’ option you may

select the ‘Add a network place’ option to connect to the network share for your lecture notes and other materials.

Step 4) Select ‘Next’

Step 5) Select ‘Chose another network location’ and the select ‘Next’

Step 6)   Type the following information in the internet or network address’ box and select ‘Next’:  \\NPGADAMS\NOTES

Step 7)  

Add 'your' username and password into the spaces provided and select ‘OK’: 

Username: username@HUCM.HOWARD.EDU 

Password: ******* (normally your student id)

 

(You may check the box ‘Remember my password’ but if you change your HUCM password you will have to repeat this process with the new password.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8)   On this screen you can rename the connection if desire (My Lecture Notes) is a suggestion.
